Use a Privat id in different group to connect groups

  • Hi,

    I’m wondering if it’s possible to use the private id in another table to connect those two tables. I’ll explain what I want to make. I’m in a music group with around 60 members who all have their own instrument. Now I want a group with all the members and a group with all the instruments with their identical number. But some members have two instruments they play. So is it possible to give every record in the instruments group the private id value of a member to link the instruments to the members?

    Maybe it’s already written down somewhere but i can’t find anything about it.

    No, you cant use private id’s this way. The plugin doesn’t do the kind of thing where you have a record that is related to several other records. The only way to do something like this with Participants Database is to have your users register on the site, then you can have them create records while logged in, this allows you to associate those records with the particular user. It requires some coding, the plugin isn’t set up to do this without custom code.
