Use case for custom created files not immediately available for download

My client offers a service with a downloadable file as the final output. However, this is a custom file that is not immediately downloadable – because it’s custom it requires several days to prepare. Is it possible to use Easy Digital Downloads for this use case?

Here’s more clarification on the use case:

– We will create a new downloadable file product (or products) every time a customer orders
– These files are NOT delivered immediately after payment. They are delivered when the file is ready which will be several days after the purchase date
