Use Content grid of one theme for another theme

    I am currently using the findcools theme on my website here I would like for the content grid of the findcools theme to function like this theme heres grid, where the posts are staggered in a almost zig zag grid pattern.

    I tried creating a content-grid.php file in my website findcools-child theme and import the functions and css for styling but unsurprisingly it did not work.

    Does anyone know how to achieve what I am looking for or know a resource I could look at to achieve this?
