    Hi,
I use a plugin called Strong Testimonials to allow visitors to submit posts to my website. The posts initially show up as a custom post type called a Testimonial, which also captures their email address. After I proof-read the testimonial, I switch the post type to Notes and then publish it. At this point, I’d like to send out an email to the contributor, using the email address captured in the custom field of the post. Would your plugin be able to do that? Or would you be able to add that as a feature?

    Thanks!

    Hi @mikegrattan,
    Thanks for your message.

Providing that when you switch post types from Testimonial to Notes, the post transitions to draft and then to publish, BNFW should pick it up and send out a notification of a new ‘Note’.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Jack

Please note that the contributor is not a user and does not have a login. The email should be triggered to be sent to the email address captured during submission and saved in the post’s “EMail” custom field.

    Is that possible?

    Hi @mikegrattan,
Unfortunately not. I’ve ensured that BNFW only works with user accounts within WordPress so as to abide by anti-SPAM laws and reduce SPAM.

    Thanks,
    Jack

I see. Ok, that makes sense. Just wanted a way to tell a person who submits a testimonial that it got published.

    Hi @mikegrattan,
Depending on how the form is submitted, you might be able to create a follow-up notification using the plugin that you use to submit the form. This probably can’t be done through BNFW unfortunately, though.
