• I was reading,
    https://www.graphicbeacon.com/web-design-development/how-to-split-and-categorize-wordpress-custom-field-values/

while i was trying to learn more about custom fields, and i feel like it had some useful relevant info to what im looking for, but still not quite, maybe someone can point me to another article..

I want to use custom filds, to simple paste the urls to several thumbnails, and then insert the url to the Larger picture, which the thumbnail links too, the larger picture is the same as the thumbnail, only the bigger full size copy of it..

on my individual post pages, i have a video, along with 4 thumbnails that link to full size pictures,
in the post though i have html <divs> etc.. and i feel like this could limit me in the future if i want to style things differently, or add or subtract more..

    any ideas?

  • Why not use the WordPress media library to insert thumbnails into your post as desired? It will auto create the links to the fullsized versions if you tell it to. Then you don’t need to fool with custom fields.

You can set WordPress to size the thumbnails at any size you want them.

im preparing for high traffic loads in the future and i want to store my thumbs/pics on another server to decrease http requests per server, this way will allow me do that, and im pretty sure this will allow for better css styling targeting the thumbs ..
