    Hi there.

    I have some users already registered to a plan to whom I want to give a discount coupon and for that I understand that they would have to cancel the current plan and re-register with the coupon (I don’t know if there is a better way to apply a coupon once the user is registered…) Would it be possible to apply the discount coupon from the member dashboard (or something like that) directly and then that member plan will updated automatically?

    Hello,

    Thank you for reaching out to Paid Memberships Pro.

    Depending on your gateway you may be able to adjust the member’s subscription. Stripe is the only gateway that allows this adjustment without requiring a checkout again – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/gateway/stripe/#tab-subscription-updates

    Any other gateways would require the user to checkout again to recreate a new discounted subscription. You can also reach out to your gateway support directly to see if they are able to assist you with the adjustment from their end.

    Hi @andrewza.

    That’s great and I also using Stripe! but… actually what I want is to offer free days. I have a user with a 7 days free plan and I want to offer them 14 more days for free. I guess the best way is to create a plan with X days for free and tell the user to switch from their current plan to the new one. That way I guess the plan would be updated and there would be no problems with Stripe.

    Or maybe I could change de subscription type on user Membership Level – Current level dropdown… but I’m not sure what happens when checking (or not) “Cancel this user’s subscription at the gateway”. Is the gateway updated? Would a new checkout be necessary?

    The “Cancel this user’s subscription at the gateway” only removes the subscription from the user and doesn’t update it.

    If this isn’t what you’re looking for, I recommend in asking customer’s to checkout again (do not cancel their subscriptions from the dashboard) as this will be handled during their checkout again.

    You should be able to give these user’s a discount code that increases the number of free days they receive.
