    Hi,
I need to restore a website and I don’t know why but in this case I don’t find the “installer.php” file. I got the .zip but maybe I missed the installer button and now I just have the .zip and the website doesn’t exist anymore. Is it possible to restore the website without the installer? How can I do it? Something like uploading the zip via FTP and… the database thought PHPmyAdmin? Would it work? Any other idea?

Thank you very much in advance ??

  • Hey Mafreino,

Inside of the archive.zip file is a backup copy of the installer file. Its named installer-backup.php

    Hope that helps~

    No Problem! Happy Duplicating ??

Hi! in my case i don’t find the installer file inside the zip. when i try to create the package there is an error “built interrumpt” but the backups files are correct generated in wp-snapshots/tmp. I can find three files: archive.zip, database.sql and scan.json. I unzip archive file but inside i only see the complete wordpress and database.sql but there is not installer.php. Could you help me how i can restore my site without this file?

    thank you in advance

Sorry, but treat me like an idiot because when it comes to this, that’s just what I am.

I called Bluehost to help with the install side of things. I had the zip of my site and installer.php and the guy at Bluehost said, “I got this.” He did NOT use the installer. When I go to upload media, apparently they’re loading on the old site.

Here’s my five million dollar question. Is it too late to use the Install-backup.php file that would straighten all this out? Or, should I just trashcan all my work by deleting everything except the cig-bin … and start from the beginning?

I’ve done a bunch of customizing that I’d rather not lose, but in perspective, that seems less important than does a site that works.

    Thanks in advance!!!
