Use external RSS feed

    Hi @anushka27,

    It’s possible to use an external host (other than Castos) with the plugin, but you’d need to paste the file URL from the enclosure URL into each episode manually.

    Hi, Thanks for the info. One more question. If I put the rss feed on the field that you provided, will the data that is gathered for that feed where it originally came from also be added in the statistics from the original source? So each time someone listens on new site, this data will be added on original feed statistics?

    Hi @anushka27,

    You’d need to add the actual audio file URL, not the RSS feed, into each episode.

    For example, if my RSS is https://audience.castos.com/feed, I would add the <enclosure URL> for that particular episode, which in this case is found here in the feed.

    Regarding analytics counting those as listens through the plugin, I think these would count in the analytics of your podcast host, but to be sure I’m confirming with our WordPress developer and will update you here.
