Use free text instead of date

Hi I am working on the timeline plugin and woul like the text size to be able to change of the date (using timeline 10) AND if possible have free text with a sort number so
Day 1 = 1 Day 2-3 = 2 etc.. and then use asc or so fo the order instead of the date.
