Use it in cover photo instead of user avatar

Not out-of-the-box. The identicon pattern is dynamically drawn based on a 5 by 5 pixel grid. The cover images aren’t usually square so using the same logic won’t work. I’d need to add some modifications.

Hey Henry thanks for your fast reply. I did not take into account how the different aspect ratios could impact the logic.

I use a nested for loop, painting a portion of the image on each iteration. See the create() method for how it’s done.

Thank you Henry for pointing this out. I would need to change also the source for the hash, for example using the name of the group (in case of applying it for the group cover).

Yes you could substitute the member’s email address for the group slug when hashing. I’m pretty sure group slugs are unique.
