Use Live mode on live site, and Test mode on staging site?

    Hello,

    I am using the Stripe payment gateway plugin in live mode on my live WooCommerce store.

    I now wish to create a permanent staging site, so that I can do tests on the staging site before I do any changes to the live site.

    If I create a staging site (clone) of my live site, can I set the Stripe plugin in Test mode on the staging site, while the plugin at the same time is in Live mode on the live site? This will allow me to do test purchases on the staging site.

    Or will this setup cause problems on my Stripe account, which will be receiving test purchases and real purchases at the same time (I will be doing test purchases on the staging site, but real customer will be doing real purchases on the live site at the same time)?

    Yes, you can use Test mode on your staging site while keeping it in Live mode on your live site. This will indeed allow you to do test purchases on the staging site without affecting your live site. More info: https://woocommerce.com/document/stripe/customer-experience/testing/
