  • Hi @andrejoosse,

Just to be clear, you want to add a link to duplicate a certain page in the publically available menu on the frontend of your site, or are you adding the link to duplicate the page somewhere in the admin?

Also, can you confirm that using the normal “Clone” or “New draft” links on the page still work?

Yes, in the public menu, but only logged-in admins can see the menu item. The normal clone/draft links work fine, no problem there.

(Today I installed the ‘Customs Block Template’ plugin that creates a template for a new post, this might be a better choice for the things I want.)

    Thanks.

@andrejoosse Thanks for your reply and for confirming.

I tested this on my own site and found that if the ‘New Draft’ link I used contained the nonce key/authentication information (such as in https://example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?action=duplicate_post_new_draft&post=6&_wpnonce=6f358cbd76) this link would work.

However, this additional information appended to the URL is specific not only to the user, but also to that particular log in session. So in conclusion, it doesn’t appear to be feasible or possible to create this sort of link that would be accessible from a menu in the manner in which you need.

    Thanks for checking!
