    Good morning,
I’m using wordpress in a multisite context.
I’m looking for a way to extract the translatable strings of the child themes from the parent theme.
The idea is to use the .pot template of the parent theme to translate all the strings of all the themes (parent and child).

Despite my attempts I can’t get the child theme strings from the parent theme (added relative path to the child theme folder in the advanced configuration).

    Is it possible ?

    thanks

Parent and child themes should have separate text domains. Translate the parent text domain for parent theme strings, and translate the child theme for additional child theme strings. The idea of extracting child theme strings from the parent theme sounds wrong.

See my guide to translating a child theme.
