Use sorting widget in block theme

    Hi! Now that I have my filters all set up and working on my website, I was wondering how to make use of the sorting widget, considering I am using a block theme without widgets. If I understood correctly, the widget ID is going to be a problem in this case. Is there a possibility to still use the sorting function?

    No, unfortunately, the sorting widget is currently working only with the widgets, you need to have a widget so that from admin panels you can place a sorting widget there and configure it. Only after that, you can display it fpr example via shortcode on the page with that configured sorting widget ID.     @silente08 how did you solve the issue? I can see working filtering on your website..

    @fesupportteam I’ve added support for widgets to my block theme and use a shortcode within the Gutenberg block, unfrotunately filters are not visible, maybe the PRO version of the plugin supports blocks ?

    Hi @kuperman87

    The free version is only working on the archive pages. If you want to display the filters widget (not the sorting widget) all you need to do is create a filter set in the free version and on archive pages add the shortcode [fe_widget].

    With the PRO version, you can display filters on any page, it can be a singular page, posts page, category page, or any CPT page.

    Hi, yes, filtering is not the problem, sorting is. I was actually able to activate sorting by using the X3P0 – Legacy Widget plugin, but it was very messy, so I stopped using it for now. Might test again at a later stage.
