Use THUMBNAILS

Hi,
The images that appear in the published “gallery” are the same, full-sized images as in the lightbox, thus defeating the purpose of a gallery. Is there a way to make them appear as THUMBNAILS that can then be clicked to see the full-sized image? Otherwise, there is no point in having a gallery. Thank you.
