When I upload downloadable files from the user front end form for woocommerce products, they go into the wp-content/uploads/ folder along with images. How can I change this so they use the woocommerce downloadable upload function. This will ensure that the downloads are not easily accessed by anyone with a link and are placed in the woocoomerce/uploads directory instead. I basically just need the files to processed through the woocommerce functionality.

    Hi @adrock101,

How can I change this so they use the WooCommerce downloadable upload function?

To change the upload location for downloadable files in the WP User Front-end plugin for WooCommerce products and make them use the WooCommerce downloadable upload function, you’ll need to customize the plugin.

    I hope you understand.

    Regards!

I think that’s obvious that it needs to be customized. I’m wondering if anyone knows a way to do it even though the plugin should automatically do it. Placing downloadable files that are paid should have a little more security than placing them in the same wp media folder like everything else. If anyone has the link they can easily download it for free. Woocommerce makes it so the download is not directly able to be downloaded from the url.

You’re absolutely right, ensuring the security of paid downloadable files is crucial when running an online store with WooCommerce. While WooCommerce does provide a level of protection, it’s always a good idea to take additional steps to enhance the security of your downloadable products.
