Use wordpress website on an extern domain

    Hi!

    I did a website for a cient in wordpress which was running via MAMP/localhost until now.
    Now I want to install the website on the server and domain that the client already has. The package he uses includes webspace only.

    My question is: Does my client have to buy a database from the webspace host? (He should be able to login and change content on the wordpress website I created).

    Or is it enough to upload the folder that includes the website with the changed config.php file ?

    This might be a stupid question, unfortunately I don’t know a lot about this.

    This seems pretty complicated to me.. Can you tell me how much time the moving of the wordpress will approximately take and is this hard for a beginner?

    There’s no real answer to this as it’s a bit like asking “How long is a piece of string?”. At a rough guess, I’d say a few hours.

    Again, that really depends upon the beginner. If you follow each step slowly and carefully, it shouldn’t be too difficult but you do need an ability to use FTP and something like Phpmyadmin.
