Basically as the title states… i had jetpack installed on one of my sites. Then when troubleshooting another problem I turned off the jetpack plugin not realising that this was also controlling the testimonials on the site.

When I re-installed and activated the plugin the testimonials have been deleted.

Does anyone know where they are stored? Is it locally on the server or is it attached the Jetpack user account?

    Hi –

What is the site URL? If you’d like to share it privately that can be done via https://jetpack.com/contact-support/?rel=support

Hi – Jetpack isn’t currently activated on the site. Please install and activate it so we can take a closer look.

Hi jetpack is installed on the site. I have managed download the database file that houses all of the information but there isn’t anything that groups the data together. So I can’t easily add the information back into the website.

    Are you able to help?

Here is a link to my Google drive which houses the file I am talking about. Hopefully, you are able to access?

Hi, just to clarify. The testimonials disappeared from your live site only, or also from your WordPress.com dashboard? Can you still see them when going to My Site>Site>Testimonials?

They disappeared from the live site and in the backend. Are you able to help restore?

We wouldn’t be able to restore those for you but I’m still wondering how come they disappeared. Could you go to Settings > Writing in your WordPress Dashboard and check that the Testimonials option under “Your Custom Content Types” is also enabled?

If testimonials still don’t appear on the front-end of the site, please check the plugins page of your site to see if there are any plugins for testimonials that have been installed, but are currently disabled. If there are, please try enabling them as well.

Yes, it is enabled in that section. And there is another plugin called Testimonial Rotator but this is a new plugin.

I have been looking at your site and I think it would be important to rule out plugin or theme conflict. Please try to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Twenty theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

To make it easier, you can install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.
