useDesc: (boolean) use description as caption not working

useDesc: (boolean) use description as captionI have populated the description fields in the gallery, but nothing is displaying below the image.
I have looked at numerous other solutions for this, but they all involve editing php or css. Shouldn’t the checkbox just work?
