• Stopped working after about one week. Two identically configured sites, only with different content pages have different issues. One will not save any manual backups. The other will not save manual or automatic backups. They both stopped functioning after about one week, with no significant changes made. For one of the sites, the download links used for staging on BoldGrid cloud no longer works. The progress bars work, the message that backup is complete shows. But, the backup is never listed, and the “review” link points to an old non-existent backup.

Neither BoldGrid nor Dreamhost, after two weeks and several tickets, can find any possible issues or fixes. Quite frankly, they don’t seem very interested.

Hi @neydoc, thanks for taking some time to leave us a rating. While obviously we’re not thrilled about a 1 star rating, your feedback is legit and I’d feel the same way as you in those circumstances.

I’m one of the developers on Total Upkeep, and I haven’t heard about this issue from our support team yet. Sounds like a communication issue on our end… I’ll touch base with the team to get caught up on these issues, and if you’re willing to provide any more info needed, I’m eager to get these issues resolved.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience, but thanks again @neydoc for taking the time to post your feedback.

Hi @neydoc, we just released Total Upkeep 1.12.5, which includes a new logging system.

Here’s a quick rundown of how it works:

    1. When a backup starts, a log file will be written.
    2. To view the log files, got to Total Upkeep > Tools > Logs > Click any of the log files.

If you’re willing to help us troubleshoot the issues you’re encountering with Total Upkeep, after your next failed backup please take a look at the logs and post the failed log here so we can troubleshoot further.

    Thanks,
    – Brad

    Hi @neydoc,

This is my last response here, I promise! Unless of course you wanted to chat a bit more…

Over the last month we’ve been working with DreamHost, and we believe we may have found a solution for backups on DreamHost. I wrote an article about it here – https://www.boldgrid.com/support/total-upkeep/dreamhost-without-fastcgi/

If you by chance chose another backup solution for your WordPress site, I’d be interested in knowing which plugin you chose, and what features you really like about it. We really want to make things right, and even if we can’t in this case, it would be helpful to get feedback on how we can improve Total Upkeep.

Thanks again Patrick and take care!
    – Brad
