Helpful and a great start

  • I am hoping to install a wordpress site with Jomres on it very soon, with a 150 properties for short term rental. The team that sells and supports it are very available and want to help.

    I have added a “wish” for a desired feature to have a shortcode for each property that can be put into posts / pages. This will make Jomres much more plugged into WordPress.

    Jomres now has a single shortcode that can only be added to pages, this shortcode displays the entire Jomres setup for booking with calendar and all, but does not allow using the full array of of tens of thousands of WP plugins since it is “stand alone”. One cannot use Yoast SEO to make each property finadable. A workaround I will use if they do not add the shortcode for each property is to add a hard link with a picture to the property and use features pictures picture, yoast, descriptions, text and more.

    I am giving 4 stars since the team are so helpful and expect Jomres to do be more useful as the WordPress community supplies them with useful feedback

    You mean a demo like this one, where you log in with the username/password combination of manager/manager?

    Listen, we don’t like encoding software, it’s tricky (for you) to set up, so it’s impossible to provide a demo that you can download, play with for a while to see if you like it, then decide to purchase. If we provided you with an unencoded demo people would simply take it, use it and never pay for it (been there, done that, bought the tee shirt). This is why the Core system is free and we ask you to pay for just the plugins instead.

    We’ve done the next best thing, we provide you with a working installation that you can log into and play around with. If that’s not enough for you, then I’m sorry, but you cannot seriously give this plugin one star purely because you couldn’t bother to read the information that was right in front of your face.

    I have been fiddling all day. I did see your demo. I believe that the www.ads-software.com folks frown upon posting plugins that MUST be bought in order to be useful. SO I stick to my one star

    However, I understand that your software is very useful. I will be showing one of your online demos to a potential client in a couple of days,

    Since writing the above review, I have installed your plugin on Joomla. When I tried to update/preview a reservation the WP plugin got stuck twice, while the Joomla one worked right away.

    Additionally, the link https://userdemo.jomres-demo.net/index.php?option=com_jomres&view=default&Itemid=103&lang=en seems NOT to be to a WordPress site, but rather to a Joomla installation

    Jomres Core, as previously stated, is free, and is a working booking system (without all the frilly bits like creating extra properties etc). That said, the Jomres information on the WP Repo server was thoroughly vetted (as it should be) by the WP admins, so I’m confident they’ve got no problem with the business model.

    Absolutely correct, you didn’t state that it had to be a WP demo, but it doesn’t matter because the frontend functionality is exactly* the same, regardless of the host CMS.

    In that case, we’d appreciate it if you could post on the WP portion of the forum so that we can look into it for you. Better still, email us at support [at] jomres [dot] net, including screenshots and if available login details for the server you were seeing the problem on.

    * Ok, there are some tiny differences, but not enough to mention, due to the differences between WP and Joomla.
