usemap HTML create massive blank space on post

Hi.

I went to use a usemap on a post but the usemap HTML creates a massive blank space on posts.

I tried sticking it in a [code] tag ... but it still stays there.

I used the HTML editor to do so. Is there an alternative way to hide this?
