User Agent String for Rejected User Agents

  • I’m trying to enter the user string for the desktop version of Safari in the Rejected User Agents field so W3TC won’t serve minified content to Mac Safari browsers. (My theme doesn’t render properly in Safari when CSS is minified, as Safari ignores the stylesheets)

    I can’t seem to get the syntax of the string right so W3TC will honor it. How do you correctly enter the user agent string? I have tried just pasting in the plain user agent string and an escaped version, but neither are honored.

    For example:
    Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_3) AppleWebKit/600.6.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/8.0.6 Safari/600.6.3

    and

    Mozilla/5\.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_3) AppleWebKit/600\.6\.3 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/8\.0\.6 Safari/600\.6\.3

    don’t seem to work.

    What is the correct syntax for these UA strings?
