[user avatar] not working anymore?

I’m witnessing some strange behavior that I haven’t had before. XYL no longer works in my installation:

[pass field=author-id]
[users id={-FIELD}]
  [user fullname] (works)
  [user archive-url] (works)
  [user avatar size=60] (do not works)
[/users]
[/pass]

The [user avatar] shortcode does nothing – no error and no output. Strangely enough, it still worked a few weeks ago. After that I only updated WordPress from 5.3.1 to 5.3.2. Would someone please test this?

Used PHP version is 7.3
