    Hi there,

I have a site where users sign up for a class and then are given access to the forum that is directly related to that class and no other.

I can’t seem to get the private groups to work properly on my site.

I have set up the Private Group names: Group 1, 2, 3 etc.
I have gone into Forums and assigned each Forum to a Group (1,2,3)
I have gone and assigned the user to the said Group they belong to based on the class they signed up for.

But the user can see more Forums that what they are assigned too in their user account. I also made sure that the forums that they are seeing that they aren’t supposed to see, are attached to the proper Group name.

I’m not sure what I am missing?

Thank you for your time and help with this plugin.

    ok, can you go into

    Dashboard>settings>bbp private groups>plugin information

and copy the resultant page and email it to me via my website

    https://www.rewweb.co.uk

along with the wordpress role, bbpress role and groups assigned to a user who can see more than they are supposed to.

Then can you tell me which forum can be seen and how they get to this.

I can then set this up on my test site

    You have

Dashboard>settings>bbp private groups>forum visibility settings ete to true, which as the text says :

By default only users with access to a forum will see the forum titles in the indexes. However you may want everyone to see that a forum exists (ie see the title) but not be able to access topics and replies within this. In this case, set the forum visibility below. If you want only logged in users to see these forums exist, then also set the forum to private within the dashboard>forums settings See help tab for more information

Follow that text and either turn visibility off or set the re-directs

Thank you! This answered my problem and my private forum visibility is blocked!
