User content based upload site plugin?

  • Hey,

    Seems a bit strange asking something like this here! But here goes..

    I’m looking at setting up a ‘user generated content’ site, and wondered if anyone knew of a good plugin that would allow users to
    1. upload .zip’s with an accompanying image and description to a chosen category
    2. For the uploads to show in a list on that categories page, and once clicked – each show with their own page with image, description and download link.

    So far I’ve been through pages and pages in the plugin directory and tried all the ‘popular’ file manager type plugins, none of which I can get to really do what I want. I know this is not really what WP sites are for, but I figured firstly it’s a pretty simple premise, and given the ammount of plugins on offer there should at least be one that would do it!

    Have you looked at Gravity Forms? It’s a premium plugin, but it does offer the possibility to let users upload files & images, and then pretty robust tools for displaying submitted info. I’m not sure it will do what you need, but it might be worth taking a look.
