Okay, let me start by saying the WP Staging plugin worked EXCELLENT for what I needed to do after hosting totally messed up my site with their version of staging. I used the plugin to check on changes to my site before I made them. (I use free version so would do work on staging, then go and actually fix on my site.)

Background information: The problem is after I deleted my hosting sites 2 staging site (wasn’t supposed to have 2) it also deleted and changed some of my actual site. So I uploaded backups from when I had last posted content (I do it everytime, so I have several). Then I found WP Staging plugin, installed it and created the staging with no problems.

Took a break because I had been fighting this issue for 2 days! Well when I sat down to work on it again, I noticed the backup I uploaded wasn’t the most recent, so I then uploaded the correct backup. A backup without the WP Staging plugin. Then I proceeded to make my changes in staging, and then to my site. Saving a backup after each big change, I had to completely redo nine pages. My site is fixed!

Question: How do I go about deleting the staging site since currently my actual site doesn’t have the plugin. If I reinstall the plugin on my site (same site just now updated ) would I then be able to delete the staging site and files. Or is there something else I need to do. I plan on using the plugin but don’t want to make a mistake since everything is great right now. I just need to know what to do.

    Thank you!

    Hi @cvollue

First, you need to install WP STAGING plugin on your current site, then follow this guide to re-connect the staging site you have to the live site, and you should be able to delete it after that.

Or, simply follow this guide to delete the staging site’s manually.

    Thanks,
    Alaa
