• Hello.
    As a non-coder, I’m running a WP site for a non-profit group of volunteers https://www.gaq.be.
For that, I’d like to implement a few features that seem normal/simple to me, but I can’t seem to find the correct solution (it doesn’t help that I need to run the site and WP in French ??
    1) Add a few simple fields (street; number; postcode; …) to the built-in user management
    2) allow only registered (and confirmed) users to access to some content the site’s posts and comments, i.e. our ‘internal’ discussion – ideally using ‘categories’.
    TIA

  • Hi There:

You’ll need “plugins” for these options and there are a lot.

Suggest you check out plugins>new in your dashboard and try a few searches like:

    “enhanced registration”
    “allow only registered users”

You should get lots of choices as these are common options many WP implementers have wanted/used over the years.

There have been several site’s I’ve built where I created similar “rules” for the users during registration etc. “using plugins”

    Ron
