Hi, and thank you for a great plugin!

I got an idea I wanted to talk to you about. I would like to let all users create their own photoalbum (only one) with a limited number of photos, separated from my albums so that I can display my albums like before. Then you would have another gallerypage that includes all user-galleries.

Would it be a lot of work to make something like that happen?

That worked! Thank you! I look forward to start using this plugin now ??

A little something you might want to change: When a user is about to upload images, there is a box and a text that says “After upload: Go to the Edit Album page” or “After upload: Go to the Import Photos page.”. The only problem is that they are not allowed to go there. Perhaps that box and text only should be visible to those who are allowed to Edit Album and Import Photos.

This is what i realized during breakfast just now. I will change it as you indicated. Also, i will build in an alertbox in case you did not select an album.

    All for next version ( 4.9.12 )

    Very good ??

I can’t seem to find a way to adjust the default settings that a user album gets when it is first generated. Is there a way to do that? I would like to adjust the upload limit.

4.9.12 is under test, but the weekend i’m offline most likely.

Table IX-B5 sets the default upload limit on album creation time

    Looking forward to it ??

Instead of Edit Album page, perhaps users can be forwarded to Edit Photos page. If they are allowed to edit photos.

By the way, is there a shortcode or script that lets you list the album like this:

    – Last updated sub-album first. (Not last created, but last updated)
    – Empty-sub albums are hidden from view.

The reason I want this is because every user gets an album upon login, but not that many are using them yet. Like it is now, the galleries containing pictures are somewhat burried by the empty ones. Hiding the empty ones and viewing the last updated first would make it neater.

Just a thought. Have a nice weekend ??

    Touché

    – Last updated sub-album first. (Not last created, but last updated)

    Sadly, but no

    – Empty-sub albums are hidden from view.

Could be done, but i assumed ( therefor i did not realize the status problem from the patch ) that we were talking about front-end upload.
This would mean that the granted album could not get its first photo from the frontend.

I suffer from this same dilemma on the members page on the docs and demos site.

    Any suggestion is welcome…

    In 4.9.12:

The covers of empty albums will only be displayed for administrators and for the owner of the album.

Goodie, this is getting even better ?? So you solved your dilemma? When you display the albums, empty ones are hidden except for the author of the album and admins. Sounds perfect to me.

I’ll set it to display the albums randomly instead of last updated since that is not possible. Hiding the empty albums is the main thing.

About front-end upload, is that possible? That would be my ultimate request before I open this gallery to my users.

Sorry that you did not yet discover the front-end upload. This greatly beloved feature can be configured in Table VII-B1..7

    (@steilenhang)

Hmm. I don’t understand how to set up a front-end upload page. Is there a shortcode I am missing?

    Thread Starter steilenhang

    (@steilenhang)

I installed 4.9.12 today and it works perfect! The only thing I am missing is that front-end upload that I simply cannot find.

Check Table VII-B1,2,3,4,5,6 and view album covers and/or thumbnail displays while logged in as someone who has created an album or as admin

    (@steilenhang)

VII-B2 was not checked. It works now!

I think I found a small bug. When user galleries are created automatically, the albums are called “Default photo album for”. It does not use the language translation.

It is a little strange because I got this plugin that lets me switch to a user and navigate as that user. If I do that with a user that has not yet logged in, his photoalbum is named after the language files. Strange??

A little hard to explain.. :/
