I’m using the “Require email activation” feature for new user registrations. When the user first registers, their account in wp_usermeta shows ‘awaiting_email_confirmation’. It seems as soon as the email is sent out with the link to confirm the registration, their account automatically becomes active. This should not be happening until they click the activation link in the email. If they click the link, it shows the ‘link is expired or have already been used’.

  • Have you tried UM without any other plugin activated?

I don’t think the problem is isolated to the UM plugin. I haven’t figured it out yet.

Hi @projex – were you able to figure this out? I’m having the same issue using ultimate member + mailgun plugin.

Afternoon – Unfortunately, I was not able to resolve it. I did try disabling all other plugins but it persisted. Since our site was a short-duration bidding auction, most of the members were already registered and the problem wasn’t as much of an issue going forward. I even used a plugin that monitors all mysql traffic (inserts, updates, deletes, etc.) but there was not one entry that would indicate an activation.
