• Hello!
first of all thanks for your work!

I just installed and configured the plugin on my site and finally found something really good and simple. I’ve already done some sharing tests but when I try to share with twitter the following error appears:

“User is over daily status update limit”

Am I wrong about the configuration?

Thank you in advance for everything and have a nice day

Hi! Thanks for reporting this issue.

As far as I can tell, you didn’t do anything wrong. We’re currently looking into it and, apparently, it’s something related to Twitter’s rate limits. I would have expected that “how many tweets” one can publish in a given period of time is user-dependent, but it might be the case that it’s also limited on a per-app basis. We had never experienced this before, but it looks like, as our user base grows, the chances of getting this error are higher because there are more users sharing content.

We’ve contacted Twitter and ask for some guidance. In the meantime, we’re implementing a few safe guards on our end so that the chances of this happening again are as low as possible.

Let’s hope Twitter can help us! ??

    Hello there at Nelio Content,

To begin with, I would also like to thank you for your work and effort in creating and maintaining this plugin, offered for free.

Unfortunately, in the last month I have also been experiencing issues with twitter. Some posts do not get forwarded. The previous version of Nelio Content stated the same error: “User is over daily status update limit”. However, we were able to forward those messages at a later time manually via the calendar. Sadly this function is removed from the new version of Nelio Content. Moreover in the new version, there isn’t any justification or error for the not forwarded messages.

Is there any update on resolving the issue with twitter? Alternatively are there any plans to include again a manual way to forward the unforwarded messages?

    Thank you in advance,
    George

    Hi George,

Thanks for your kind words about our plugin.

We contacted Twitter about the update limit issue here. We filled their form and are waiting for a response.

Regarding the missing functionality you refer to, we believe that it is still there in the new version. You can send failed messages later manually. Are you sure you cannot do that?

For more details about it, could you please share with us some screenshot with the specific failed message and what you see when you try to resend it? Our email is support.content __at__ neliosoftware.com

    Thanks for your time, George!

    Hi Antonio,

Thank you for letting us know! Hopefully Twitter will respond.

As for the manual forwarding of failed messages, I can verify that it is missing; all social messages in calendar view are greyed out. Hence there is no way to forward the messages. The only clickable areas are the post listings themselves, offering a quick edit of the post, along with “Edit”, “View” and “Cancel” options. Additionally, the plus icon (+) on the top left corner of the calendar allows solely the addition of posts. The “Social Message” option is greyed out there as well.

    Best Regards,
    George

Hi, George. It’s David, one of Antonio’s colleagues.

After reading your latest comment, I assume you’re using the free version of our plugin, which explains why you can’t create new social messages from the calendar.

I tried to reproduce the issue locally and had no luck: if I’m a free user and a message failed, I can still click on it, see an explanation as to why it failed, and “Send it now.”

To be completely honest with you, I don’t know why it’s not working on your site so… can you please get in touch with us by email (support dot content at nelio software dot com) so that we can privately share some information about your specific setup and figure out what’s amiss?

Once we have a solution, we can share it here ??
