User Links Not Updating

  • When a user changes their account name, their user URL does not update.

    For example, we had a user put in their email address for their username, so their url was “https://domain.com/user/[email protected]“.

    I changed their username to john-doe, but the link on the site still shows up as “https://domain.com/user/[email protected]“.

    I went into the database and modified the nice name which is not honored by the plugin. For some reason the old url still remains active even though I see no entries for “[email protected]”.

    Would love some assistance sorting this out.

    I was able to fix apart of this by toggling the user account display name in wp-admin. I changed it, saved the account and changed it back to what it was and the user now appears as their login.

    However, it would be nice to have the URL be the “nice-name” in order to conceal the login information. Is there a trick to make that happen?

    Hi @bward,

    Do you have a username on your registration form?
    You can change “Profile permalink base” in Ultimate member -> Settings -> General -> Users section.

    I currently have it set to “username”. So it is taking on the username.

    My issue happened while using the Give donations plugin. There is only an email address field. Are there any plans for Give Add-ons?
