When trying to login with any account, new or old, I get this issue after the last update. I tried disabling plugins and replacing WP with fresh files, neither helped thus far.

Notice: get_userdatabylogin is deprecated since version 3.3.0! Use get_user_by(‘login’) instead. in /home/intrane0/public_html/kizuki.rocks/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3896

Notice: update_usermeta is deprecated since version 3.0.0! Use update_user_meta() instead. in /home/intrane0/public_html/kizuki.rocks/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3896

    Thanks.

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site. You can then use its admin bar menu to turn on/off plugins and themes one at a time.

    See https://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/

@tld265 – I would suggest looking at the active plugin you use for login customization(s) and update it, if possible; and/or, advise the plugin author they should be considering appropriate refactoring of their code based on the messages you are seeing.

If you are not using a plugin for login customizations then I suspect this would fall to your current theme and a similar approach to the above would apply.

Do you recall what version of WordPress you updated from? This information may also be of assistance to the code author, too.

I tried disabling every plugin that interacted with logins, and I also switched to a default theme with no luck. I can try again just to make sure though, thanks.

    Disable *all plugins*.

I think you may have a borked update.

Please go to dashboard->updates and click the “reinstall” button.

    That did it, thanks!

I had to delete a plugin, and then update and it fixed it, just doing one didn’t help.
