User Managment

I saw a few plugins that seem to provide user account management capabilities to WP, and I’m just wondering what folks think of the options that are currently available. I should mention that I’m currently on 2.9.2 and, I know, I need to update (and will if requred to get something working properly)

I essentially need to have a sub-section of my site (think of a tab on a header navbar) that has certain pages only available to those that have accounts. So if_some_page and not_logged_in redirect to login. Fairly typical. Thanks for feedback in advanced!
