User names and Passwords

Just started blog for first time a couple of days ago. Today, I could not log in to wordpress but I can get into my dashboard. I now have a blog up and running but wanted to see how to add a photo to my admin info. WordPress did not recognize my e-mail address much less a password. Do I have to start over?
