• Got a notice that a plugin didn’t work, but I failed to click the restore link in time. Have disabled the plugins via FTP , but still cannot get access to the site through svennestreker.no/wp-admin/. When trying to log in (not using the above url), my user appears not to exist. However, through another site, gestaltterapeut.no, I can get access again and with the normal user/PW combo.

I could not get the recovery link renewed, it only worked for 1 day.
Any idea what’s happened and what to do? No other recovery tips have worked. Thanks for any leads..

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Follow the steps at https://www.ads-software.com/documentation/article/reset-your-password/#through-phpmyadmin to change your password directly in the database.

Along the way, you’ll see what your username and email are saved as too.

You’ll find phpMyAdmin in your hosting account’s control panel.

Thanks a mill, James. Any idea why svennestreker.no/wp-admin/ might not work anymore? There was an issue with an accordion plugin, that I disabled, to no avail. The FTP content is backed up. I haven’t yet pursued that link of yours, which would help me once I get that URL to open the login prompt, I assume. (Disabling the plugin in that other domain worked ok, gestaltterapeut.no, where I have another theme set up temporarily)

It sounds like you did this part, but just in case, manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. Hopefully, this will force the default theme to activate and rule out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
