User not yet verified by email can login in wordpress

Steps are simple:
Enable the email verification as suggested in this thread:

from your dashboard go to ultimate member-> User roles -> edit the role that you have open for registration (usually author)-> under registration status click require email activation and that is it

Then register a new user.
New user receive the verification email as expected.
New user before use the activation link in the email, can login and do whatever it’s role can do. Not expected behavior.
In WordPress users dashboard, shown as “Awaiting E-mail Confirmation” but can do everything.

Ultimate Member version 2.1.15 and 2.1.16

Here you have the screen of the role settings.
I’ve selected require email activation for Registration Status, and also try with and without the check on Login user after validating the activation link, nothing changes.

Users without click on activation link can login in wordpress, make comment on post etc.

There are any news on this? It’s getting annoying since BOT start register to our website. We need a solution for that. I don’t want they also start to comments ??

Mark as resolved, even if i still have the problem, but it looks like is not related to Ultimate Member ( not only )

Hi, making some more deep investigation, it looks like the problem starts when using another plugin that trying to synchronize users with phpbb forum. We’re now trying to investigate further in that way, ‘ill update this thread if a solution will be found.
