• Can please somebody help me with te user permission, because these are starting to driving me mad. ??

When I make a clean install through my Plesk Admin panel, all permissions are set to the FTP user/group. So far so good I guess. Like this I can edit and upload files through a FTP client.
But when I install any plugins or themes than they are installed as www-data and not as my default user. When a plugin or theme is installed as www-data I can not edit these files through my FTP client.

    Where am I going wrong????

I just noticed that when I run the WP installation through the application install in the Plask admin, the folders permission are set as 757. I think this is quite a strange setting?

Ideally WordPress files and directories should be set to 755. Some specific files should be even more restrictive, but as a start 755 is good. 757 is quite dangerous to have.

As regards your other issue, when you upload files via FTP, the user of the FTP service is the owner of such files thus why being assigned such permissions.

When you install a plugin via WordPress interface, the owner of such files is the user under which the Web server is running, hence why they have different permissions.

If you have such restrictive problems, you can always install plugins via FTP instead of via the WordPress dashboard.
