User profiles on unique url

  • I apologize if this is in the wrong forum but I really have no idea how this would get done.
    I am looking for a plugin that would allow a user to create a profile page on a unique url on our site. I would want the url to look like a sub domain of my site i.e. userchoosesname.mysite.com .
    My question is has anyone seen or heard about any plugin like this. If not what would be the necessary knowledge to build something like this? Honestly even search terms for this features proper name would be helpful.

  • just a profile or a blog ? try wp-MU.

    on the plugin, search for author plugins; i am using Profiler plugin but this is not to make subdomain pages — i guess you could make manual subdomain and use .htaccess to redirect the profile page called by wordpress.. hmm just a thought.

    Hi!
    Did you find out how to create that page or did you discover a good plugin? I want create a website for my high school class, with wp of course, where friends can login to their personal page and create their photoalbum.
    Now i found a photoalbum script that it could work on wp i think (still have to test it), but the main thing is create a script wich create the new user subdomain (that are unlimited with my host) : username.website.com/
    Any suggestion will be pleased
