User Registration and automatic upgrade failures

  • Okay, here is whats up.

    I have WordPress 2.9.1 installed on a windows box with plesk as a manager.

    When it was on the Linux box, I could make it automatically upgrade the plugins and all that cool stuff, on the windows box, I can’t. It ask for ftp info, and even when it has that it still doesn’t work.

    Now about the user registrations, Ive never figured that one out or tried it till now. When a users registrars they DO NOT receive an email.

    What do I have to do?

    (I think that the upgrade thing has something to do with the file security (chmod for linux) settings.)

    (And the email, im not sure the box has that service setup yet, but I can have it setup if need be, id much rather the wordpress use my gmail account to send emails.)
