User registration IP adress unique like Username

  • Hi,
    i need to setup the registration for subscribers with an unique IP adress like it′s working with usernames

    the purpose is that if someone register and the ip adress is already registred for another user the registration is not possible… i know with a VPN they can change their IP adress, but this is secondary.

    The point is simple that from one IP adress the Registration must be impossible and if possible a notice should popup like a same username “This username already exists” it would be nice a notice popup ” This IP adress already exists!”

    Is there a plugin for this, or do somebody have a solution?

    I’m curious, why would you want to do that? Many ISPs hand out shared IPs to their users, VPNs always operate on shared on IPs, not to mention that typically all points in office, public, and education buildings share a single IP.

    So, for example, if 1 person from UCLA registers on your site, then what you’re proposing would prevent registrations from anyone else from UCLA.

    Hi, I know it sounds a little weird…

    the reason i want to do this i setup a game and counting with at least 500 – 800 subscribers.. one of the rules of the game is that in one family only one IP adress may register. if i found some kind of system, it takes a lot of manual work to control the ip adresses…

    like i have written i know the possibility of VPN or shared IP, its a kind of first step in disable at least the same ip
