• I have over 1,500 “user registrations” for one of my sites. I’m so ignorant. What are they. Are they any use to me? Thanks – ron hagg

  • Wow, that’s a lot of users. Anyways, I strongly suggest to check if any of them are spammers.

Alternatively, you can disable the user registration feature by going to menu “Settings -> General” and then find the checkbox that says “Anyone can register”.

Uncheck this, so nobody can register on your blog. Now when someone accesses the login page, there will no longer be a “Register” link they can use.

Also, you can use a plugin like this to disable registration:

    Some advice and direction:

I too have the massive spammer users showing up but I want to encourage users to join my site so they can enroll in my courses and lessons.

Is unchecking “anyone can register” a good option? Doesn’t it limit comments?

    Thanks WordPressors!
