• I couldn’t find an answer, but it looks like only Administrators, at least on multisite, are able to use Simply Exclude. Is there a setting or a way for Editors to also use Simply Exclude? If not, is there a way to make that a feature request? If we make the change on our own, is there a way to push the change to the project?

    @jpresley23,

    Like most other plugins the settings for Simply Exclude are only available to users who have the ‘manage_options’ capability.

    At this time there are no plans to provide access to non-admin users. I guess I’m having trouble seeing the user-case for non-admins to be able to set rules to show/hide categories. If you can provide some details on your need I might consider it.

    You other option is to use a role capability plugin https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Roles_and_Capabilities#Resources to alter the default capability for your Editor user. Though be warned this will enable other access you probably do not need.

    We run a multisite instance. The site that uses your plugin has multiple authors and editors. Our workflow is for an editor to either enter or edit articles and select whether the article should be excluded from the front/home page based upon direction from the site administrator. It is easier to do it this way than to have an editor enter the article and then have the site admin go in and check the box to exclude the article from the front/home.

    We don’t need to give anyone other than the site admin access to the settings. We just need access to the meta box in the Edit screen. We do not want to give our Editors and Authors access to manage options. Ideally we would have a setting within the Simply Exclude options which would allow us to set the user role that has access to the meta box in the Edit Screen.

    @jpresley23,

    Ok. I understand the need. So this is just the metabox on the individual post form. I’ll see what I can come up with.

    Do you think this just just ben enabled for all users by WP role (Editor, Author, etc). Or do you see a need to have this controllable down to specific users within that WP Role?

    We just need it for all users for a specific role. If we need finer grain control, we would just create our own user roles.
