This looks like a fantastic new plugin! But one thing that is missing for me is the ability to control permissions based on user roles. Is this something that could be added?

Here’s the permissions available in some other plugins:

    Create/Edit/View projects/tasks
    Create/Edit/View others’/unassigned projects/tasks

My specific use-case is with a BuddyBoss (BuddyPress + bbPress) site. Id like to allow users to have full control over their own private projects and tasks (viewable from tab in their profile) as well as allow Group Organizers and Moderators to create Projects/Tasks, while Group Members can only see and maybe edit tasks. These group-permissions are dynamic – they change for each group.

Project Panorama seems to have excellent access control, though it has a lot of other features that don’t suit my needs. https://docs.projectpanorama.com/knowledge-base/user-accounts/

    Hello,

You can add any wordpress registered user in project and set role as project manager or co-worker. Project manager can edit/assign/delete/view project and task.
Only user having administrator role can create project. Co-worker can view project and task. User having co-worker role in project can create task, edit info of task or delete task which was created by him.

We will check the possibility to make integration with BuddyPress. If it is possible, we will give it in future.

Thanks. But what I mean is that I would like to set default permissions for any user role so that any user – current or future – will have appropriate permissions without needing to be manually changed by the admin.

Moreover, I’d like to change it so that users other than admin can create projects.

Here’s another example of how I’d like to see it:

Unfortuntely, it is not possible to set default permission for any user role.
We are going to add user capability taskbuilder-admin. You can set this capability to user while edit it. Users having taskbuilder-admin capability will create project and manage projects and tasks. So that other than admin user role will create project. This will be available in future update.
