User Role cannot edit text

  • I have a problem whereby my client has a login with the ‘editor’ role and they cannot ‘see’ the text in the visual editor to edit it, even though it is there. I have an admin account and can see and edit it without problems.

    I’ve setup a dummy ‘editor’ account to see if the problem is consistent and it is – when the dummy account is an admin it can see and edit the content, if an Editor it cannot.

    Tried deactiviating and reactivating plugins, reset folder via FTP, added ‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’ to wp-config but still nothing works. Seems to be limited to the Editor user role only.

    Any ideas?

  • Just to be sure, you added:

    define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false);

    to your wp-config yes?

    This is very strange, especially since you have deactivated plugins/renamed plugins folder etc..

    The only other thing I would try is to use the default TwentySixteen theme and try again as it may be a JS issue with the theme you’re using.

    Yeah, that’s added to wp-config but still doesn’t change anything. Initially I found that the White Label CMS plugin was causing the issue but this has since been deactivated and deleted entirely so that’s not the cause anymore.
