User Roles?

  • Is there a way to customize the new user role? For example, I tried a test user, and they joined the site with an “administrator” role. Obviously, I want to be the only administrator for the site. How would I customize the settings for this plugin so that the new users registering through your plugin would only be given a “read only” access to my site? Instead of administrative privileges? Thanks.

  • Under the main WordPress settings (General) you should edit this setting
    New User Default Role:
    so that it selects
    Unverified

    Once you approve these users make them subscribers or some other role to activate them fully.

    I am curious how to take it one step further and let the person registering decide from a drop down which role they are? It would be great to let them just choose between “author” or “editor” but not give admin as an option. Any suggestions?
