user roles working with Books

    Hi NoseGraze,

    I was wondering which user roles are able to add and edit books?

    As administrator I have the full access. But what happens for those users that I want to be restricted to be an author or editor?

    Hi there ??

    Administrators and “Book Managers” are the only ones with access to edit books. Authors and Editors do not have access.

    If you want to give access to Authors and/or Editors you can install the plugin “User Role Editor”. This allows you to edit the permissions assigned to different WordPress roles. Then follow these steps:

    1. Go to Users > User Role Editor.
    2. Select the role you want to grant access to from the dropdown at the top.
    3. Look at the “Groups” section on the left and find “Books” in the list under “Custom Post Types”. Click on “Books”.
    4. Check all the capbilities you want to grant (such as “edit_books”, “edit_others_books”, etc.).
    5. Click the blue “Update” button on the right.
