Lately, about one of every ten signups has a successful sign up, but there is NO user name in the “orders” list and they don’t get access even though they pay and I see success and I do receive the payment.

I don’t think they are signing up without a user name, because I can find their user account that they created with the user’s help, but the user account will not be granted access to the paid portion of the website and there is no user name listed in the orders category. If you check the order status in PMPRO, you see success but under user name it will say [none].

This is very random, and it happens about once out of every ten signups. Any ideas on what is causing this so I can find a fix for it?

    Hello @mack99,

Are the payments been received at the gateway? Please work through this troubleshooting guide to rule out some common issues.

    Kind Regards.

Yes, since I am getting success, the payment is obviously being credited. The order just shows no user name, even though the user is creating one. I can go find the user account once they tell me the user name. I just end up having to credit one of every 10 or so signups manually and they have to wait on me to get access. It’s very random, but it is consistently random and continues to happen once or twice a week.

    Hello @mack99,

I’m sorry for the inconvenience caused by this.

Could you please work through this troubleshooting guide to rule out some common issues. This guide helps to point and explain what to look out for when user accounts are not being created at checkout.

I think I have narrowed this down a bit. Since it is so sporadic, there could be another issue still, but one of the reasons I am finding is that the user pays with one email, but they enter a different email into the user account, so the IPN is not crediting the account. I assume this is the problem, since I am finding that the account has a different email address entered than the one used to pay with?

Is there a work around for the email issue, or can the software apply a warning message or something if they enter a different email than the paypal email?

The plugin has worked well for me and performs exactly how I would expect with this small exception. It always seems to happen when I can not get to a computer quickly as luck will have it, so people get frustrated that they paid and can’t get access.

Thanks for the feedback @mack99, user’s should be able to use a different PayPal email address from the one they are registering on your site. Paid Memberships Pro uses the PayPal token for referencing the subscription to the order.

If the user has the same email address as the one used in PayPal does this work all the time? Are you able to test this further? Are you using PayPal Express as your payment gateway?

As Mary mentioned, if the user’s are shown as [none] in orders, there’s usually an issue in creating the WordPress account during the checkout process. I’ve seen other plugins that interfere with the registration process cause this issue – such as two factor authentication, Google reCAPTCHA on register and other user based plugins. Please can you work through this guide thoroughly and let me know if it helps at all – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/troubleshooting-guide-users-not-created-at-checkout/

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
