I am currently configuring the ability for website visitors to create a user account on our website. However, upon creating the login form, I noticed that the “lost-password” functionality in the Login Widget by Elementor led to a 404-page. I can see that the end-point in WooCommcerce is set to “lost-password”. I read, that there could be a conflict, so I tried changing the WooCommerce end-point to “forgot-password” and refreshed the permalinks, but it didn’t work either.

Maybe a stupid question, but I am currently wondering if the end-point needs a dedicated page, like a “lost password” recovery page? Such page does not exist and might explain the 404-page if that’s the case.
Moreover, I believe the end-point “lost-password” calls a .php template file in the WooCommcerce repertoire, so maybe no landing page is necessary?

Any clarification and how to solve this is highly appreciated.

  • Hey there, @huusmann! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Can you please deactivate Elementor and check if the issue persists?

The lost password default end point is lost-password. Please check if without Elementor it works.

If it does, please contact Elementor support so they can assist you further. You can contact them here.

If it still does not work, please let us know so we can continue to assist you.

Furthermore, I’d like to understand your site properly. Please share with us the necessary information below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hello again,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

We found the culprit! Once we set the ‘My Account’ page to published from private, we managed to solve the issue. Now we can access the “lost password” page again.

    Thanks.
