User with Author role can’t edit “their” Pages

  • Hi! I want to allow users with the role of Author to be able to edit the pages where they are specified as the Page Author like the old Level 5. (It’s a PTO website and I want the committee chairs to have access to pages for their fundraisers/events and nobody else’s.) Is there a hack to add capabilities to a role until this is fixed for real?

    Replying to my own post here! I did find a great Role Manger plugin that allows me to do what I want for now.

    However, it seems logical to me that, by default, an Author should be able to edit pages for which s/he is the designated author.
